Dez Bryant calls out Cowboys’ coaching staff for handling of his release

Dez Bryant was released by the Cowboys on Friday after spending all eight seasons of his NFL career in Dallas, and it didn’t take long for the Pro Bowl receiver to share his thoughts on the situation.

“I won’t put no names out, but they know and I want them to know: I know,” Bryant said. “I’ll shoot them a text message and let them know. Little do they know is, you know, they can wear that ‘C’ all they want to, but in that locker room, they know they run and they talk to.

“They know who they communicate with. Everybody knows where the real love is at. I’m not throwing anybody under the bus, but that’s the difference between me and them.”

Bryant added it was an “unfair situation” that left him surprised. The receiver, who was set to earn $12.5 million next season, also revealed he was willing to accept a pay cut, but that wasn’t open for discussion during his meeting with owner Jerry Jones.

“Mr. Kelly was discharged from the hospital today after an extremely favorable recovery,” Dr. Mark Urken, who treated Kelly, told ESPN. “The speed of that process, considering the extensive nature of his surgery, was a function of his toughness, the firmness of his resolve, his faith and the support of his family. All of those factors will continue to serve him well as he moves on to the next phase of his rehabilitation.”

Kelly was diagnosed with cancer in June 2013 but a biopsy in July 2016 revealed he was cancer-free. However, he revealed last month that the disease had returned and underwent a 12-hour procedure March 28 to remove the cancer and reconstruct his upper jaw.

Kelly’s wife, Jill, took to Instagram to share an update on her husband’s progress, confirming he had been released and adding that he will continue his rehabilitation in New York for two more weeks before returning home to Buffalo.seahawks_131
